Barbara Hendrickson,
Relationship Building for Success
“There is nothing wrong with looking at a relationship with a
business goal in mind” says Ms. Hendrickson. Ms. Hendrickson is
a senior securities lawyer with the international law firm of Baker
& McKenzie in their Toronto office. She is a published author, speaker
and relationship builder extraordinaire. Ms Hendrickson focused on strategies
for growing networks, building relationships and finding mentors.
Ms. Hendrickson says “that as women we tend to break our lives
into compartments of family, work and social. By keeping these separate,
we as women are missing out on important networking opportunities. Men
do not do this, therefore we have to be better at using our relationships
to better our businesses”. “We need to network with everyone,
don’t be afraid to ask people questions, join a Professional Organizations
or a Networking group such as CAWEE, volunteer someone or get involved
in your community”.
The Breakfast Club is held on the second Thursday of every month at
The Albany Club, 91 King Street E., 7:30AM. To register or for more
information on this event or upcoming events please go to www.cawee.net.
CAWEE members share their unique world of energy, expertise, ideas and
experience at events like these throughout the year.
“Broaden your Perspective” is the vision of the associations’
members, who come together collectively to share their stories and grow
through their associations. Personal and professional development begins
with effective networking and marketing. Because women operate differently
in the business world, they need to establish trust in themselves and
in their network of contacts. To make this happen, CAWEE encourages
businesswomen to connect with each other to gain new insights and build
long-term relationships. Membership in CAWEE offers different perspectives,
different educational opportunities, different networking events and
different approaches to expanding the world within you.
